Every pick is reasoned from the maker's published figures — diameter, BTU rating, heated area, material — read off the listing on a dated visit, not a claim we can't verify.

Prices are live and dated

Numbers come from a daily Amazon check and carry the date they were pulled. If the check stops, the price disappears rather than going stale.

We say what a figure doesn't tell you

A BTU rating is not warmth at your chair, and a square-footage rating is a maximum under ideal conditions. Where a published number misleads, we say so on the page.

Safety guidance is sourced, not invented

Clearances, extinguishing steps, moisture limits and carbon monoxide warnings come from the EPA, the CPSC and Smokey Bear, cited on the page.

We tell you what to skip
